What the Tests Access

Each test reads only the device it tests, only while the page is open, and only to show you the result:

• Microphone: with your permission, the mic test listens live to show your level, lists your microphones by name so you can pick one, and records a short clip into the page’s memory for playback. Nothing is uploaded, and the clip is gone when you close or reload the page.
• Speakers: the speaker test plays sounds your browser generates. It does not listen to anything.
• Keyboard and mouse: keys, clicks and scrolls on the test page are read to find faults. They are not logged or sent anywhere, so do not worry about typing on the keyboard tester.
• Controllers: the stick drift test reads stick and button positions through your browser.
• Screen: display tests read your screen size and refresh timing, and may go full screen.

Permissions are granted through your browser. You can withdraw them at any time in your browser’s site settings.

Results and Share Cards

Results are calculated on your device. A share card is an image created in your browser and saved to your device. It is only shared if you choose to post it.

What We Collect

We do not collect names, email addresses or any other personal information, and the site does not use cookies or local storage.

Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. They are used only to keep the site running and secure, on the basis of our legitimate interest in doing so, are kept only as long as the host needs them, and are not used to identify you.

Analytics and Advertising

The site does not currently use analytics or show ads. If we add either in the future, for example Google AdSense, those services may use cookies. We will update this policy before they go live and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or CCPA give you the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. Since we do not store personal data, there is usually nothing to return, but you can contact us with any request and we will answer it.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
